Liz Corke Knits: Nathair-Sgiathach
Nathair-Sgiathach, or dragon, in Scottish Gaelic is a double-layered, stranded cowl! The outside features a diamond-shaped scale for the dragon’s tough hide and the inside is a series of soft curves representing the soft belly of the beast. With four layers of yarn sandwiched together and a seamless design, this cowl will keep you warm whatever the weather!
The cowl is worked in stranded/fair isle knitting. The colourwork pattern is both charted and written, with written instructions for the other rounds. As well as coloured charts there is a page with blank charts that you can print out and colour in with your choice of colours. The pattern also includes a photo tutorial for Kitchener Stitch in purl.
Receive 25% off until 1/26 with Coupon Code: DragonSale
Editors Note: I need Liz Corke to stop being so brilliant. Buying all her partners is going to drain my Crafting budget. 😍

I love interchangeable circular needles and often use them for knitting gloves either with magic loop or two circular needles My blog post discussing DPN vs Magic Loop vs Two Circulars I have a video demo'ing how to set up interchangeable needles for two circulars without additional tips. When people ask what interchangeable needles I recommend I have lots of questions for them first: What material do they like? Any grip issues? How sharp to you want your tip? How do you feel about cables? Invariably I recommend one of the four sets below.
For stranded color-work I love my Knitter's Pride Karbonz Needles*. I don't love knitting with wood needles, but this set gives just the right amount of grip for stranded work, but provide a shaper tip with its metal tip.

When I saw the stitch pattern I immediately thought of a little pair of mitts to take the chill off a cold umbrella handle on a wet rainy day. This is the result! They can be made with a small amount of yarn, making them perfect for leftovers of your favourite 4-ply. (4 Ply UK = US Lace Weight)

DESIGNER NEWS AND MAKE ALONGS HAPPENINGS
Sarah Dawn's Designs: Wrought Mithril KAL
The design for this hat came about from the Initiate Knit Design Challenge, hosted by Francoise Danoy of Aroha Knits. The goal of the challenge is to help people get their design ideas off the ground, and this fingering-weight lace and cable hat is the result! For the initial prompt, I drew inspiration from the vertical lines of wrought-iron fencing and the leading of stained glass. The result is a hat that's lightweight, but still warm, and a great layering piece.
The Wrought Mithril Hat is knit in the round from the brim up, using small cables and twists. Decreases are done within the cable pattern for the crown; and the top is secured by running the end of the working yarn through the live stitches.
Coupon Code: Etsy does not need a code. Payhip Code is: JanFeatPatt2021

When I started knitting, when we were still all using AOL, stores like Michaels' having 100% natural wool fibers was unheard of. But, as knitters have embraced natural fibers, so are bigger yarn manufacturers. Take advantage of Michaels's 20% off Regular price Purchases to try one of these 100% natural fiber yarns.
